Bricks are incredibly strong and long lasting, but over time in humid climates, dirt, algae and mold can start to grow on brick surfaces making them lose curb appeal and hold moisture. Here are some reasons why it's better to soft wash rather than high-pressure wash on brick surfaces.
Because brick is water-resistant and not waterproof, high pressure can remove and damage its protective resistant face. Over time, this will allow for more water absorb along with dirt, algae, and mold to move deeper into brick and mortar making it harder to clean in the future. Damaged brick will decay much faster from incorrect cleaning methods.
Soft washing brick surfaces is very effective. It can kill algae and moss stuck deep in a bricks surface. You can then follow up with a light pressure washing to remove remaining organic growth.
