Back-to-School Tips

With school starting for most this month we found this great article that can help you be prepared for the new school year.

Make the first day of school easier.

Remember that you don't need to wait until the first day of class to ask for help. Schools are open to address any concerns a parent or child might have, including the specific needs of a child, over the summer. The best time to get help might be one to two weeks before school opens.
Take them to visit the new school or classroom before the first day of school. Many children get nervous about new situations, including changing to a new school, classroom or teacher. This may happen at any age. It can be helpful to rehearse heading into the new situation. Remind them that there are probably a lot of students who are uneasy about the first day of school. Teachers know that students are nervous and will make an extra effort to make sure everyone feels as comfortable as possible. If your child seems nervous, ask them what they are worried about and help them problem-solve ways to master the new situation.
Point out the positive aspects of starting school to help your kids look forward to the first day of class. Talk about how they will see old friends and meet new ones, for example.
Find another child in the neighborhood you child can walk to school or ride with on the bus.
If it is a new school for your child, attend any available orientations and take an opportunity to tour the school before the first day. Bring your child to school a few days prior to class to play on the playground and get comfortable in the new environment.
If you feel it is needed, drive your child (or walk with them) to school and pick them up on the first day. Get there early on the first day to cut down on unnecessary stress.
Consider starting your child on their school sleep/wake schedule a week or so ahead of time so that time change is not a factor on their first couple of days at school.

This Is What Happens When You SURPRISE The Sweetest Lady With A FREE Mak...

I wanted to Surprise Debbie & John, I met them last year cleaning for them.. and they were going through an extremely tough time. So when Debbie called for a Driveway clean I knew I was going to surprise her with a free clean.

When I arrived she had told me the tragic news and on top of that she had recently broke her leg, she was still so thoughtful bringing out Tea & biscuits and checking on us all day! So we got to work with some satisfying pressure washing and got the transformation underway, Then revealing to Debbie that the clean was free! Was such a heartwarming reaction.. I hope you enjoyed and thank you for helping us help others!

Where Can You Pressure Wash?

Pressure washing is employed by businesses and homeowners to reduce allergies, minimize hazards, and improve aesthetics. A pressure washer is used to clean surfaces such as:

  • Gutters
  • Roofs
  • Decks
  • Sidewalks
  • Patios
  • Driveways
  • Siding
  • Parking lots
  • Cladding

Depending upon the surface to be cleaned, higher or lower pressure should be used, as well as the appropriate nozzle.

What is Pressure Washing?

Pressure washing or power washing is the use of high-pressure water spray to remove loose paint, mold, grime, dust, mud, and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings, vehicles and concrete surfaces. The volume of a mechanical pressure washer is expressed in gallons or liters per minute, often designed into the pump and not variable. The pressure, expressed in pounds per square inch, pascals, or bar, is designed into the pump but can be varied by adjusting the unloader valve. Machines that produce pressures from 750 to 30,000 psi (5 to 200 MPa) or more are available.

The terms pressure washing and power washing are used interchangeably in many scenarios, and there is some debate as to whether they are actually different processes.

A pressure washing surface cleaner is a tool consisting of two to four high-pressure jets on a rotating bar that swivels when water is flowing. This action creates a uniformed cleaning pattern that can clean flat surfaces at a rapid rate.

Hydro-jet cleaning is a more powerful form of power washing, employed to remove buildup and debris in tanks and lines.
